Study Area Refurbishments

Concept Building Services (Southern) Ltd were contracted by the University of Southampton to refurbish various areas of the Sir James Matthews Building located within the city centre to upgrade various study spaces and lecture theatres within the building.
The works included forming two high spec study areas to the basement and ground floor. These study spaces were completely fitted out with new ceilings, Mechanical and electrical installations, flooring and ash feature walls to break up the area.
Other areas formed within the building were a new computer suit along with a sewing/textile studio.
Located on Guildhall Square in the heart of the city’s cultural centre, the building was named after one of the city’s leading educational stalwarts, Sir James Matthews.
