When applying to be a Concept subcontractor or supplier, who sees my data and how is it being used?
Your company’s information will be accessible to Concept staff who have been granted permission to use the supply chain portal in their roles. Prior to approval, your details will be assessed by relevant internal departments such as Finance, Health and Safety, Sustainability and others to verify that all required information has been provided.
Following approval, our Contract Managers will utilise the directory to identify companies suitable for delivering work aligned with specific project requirements. Your company information will not be visible to or distributed to any external organisation. Concept’s commercial team will also reference your information and the terms you’ve agreed to, ensuring work has been completed to the required standard.
What are the benefits of applying to be a Concept subcontractor?
After registering as a Concept subcontractor, you and your company become searchable and accessible via Concept’s approved supply chain directory. Through this platform, you’ll be able to promote your services and expertise alongside your relevant certifications and licenses, which are crucial for undertaking work on Concept’s behalf.
You can also modify your profile whenever needed with updated or additional documentation and notify us of any new products or services your company can deliver.
Concept Contract Managers are actively encouraged to provide ratings and feedback on subcontractor performance. Outstanding work and positive feedback will help you distinguish yourself when marketing your services to Concept Budget Holding employees.
Can I still apply to be a Concept subcontractor if I don’t have the right level of insurance or safety documents?
Simply because you or your business haven’t secured all of the documentation listed in the requirements, this doesn’t prevent you from applying to be a Concept subcontractor. We maintain a robust supply chain to ensure we deliver only the highest quality of service to our clients, so an additional assessment is required before we can confirm the next steps.
If you have outstanding documentation you’re unable to supply, or have queries before or during the online application process, please email us. You’ll need to provide some information about the services you or your company offers so we can evaluate your application.
What are your payment terms?
We value our partners and recognise the importance of ensuring all of our subcontractors are compensated correctly and punctually. All suppliers receive payment on a 30-day term from the invoice date. Subcontractors can select from the following payment options:
Some of Concept’s divisions and contracts may have different terms, but these would be agreed before work commences.
Which accreditations and verifications do I need to become a subcontractor?
All of our subcontractors must submit CIS verification for all company partners and provide evidence of any assessments or accreditations that the business has achieved (CHAS, Safe Contractor, Exor etc.).
Businesses must also submit their Health and Safety Policy, along with details about who is accountable for Health and Safety. Risk assessments are also necessary during the application process.
For services involving any element of gas, electrics, asbestos or scaffolding, businesses must also demonstrate the relevant trades and confirm the credentials to deliver them. Businesses offering these services must also ensure their operatives hold the valid qualifications for their respective trade. These are specified for Gas (Gas Safe), Electric (NICEIC) or Scaffold (CISRS).
All businesses seeking to subcontract for Concept must also ensure that any operative or subcontractors working on Concept’s behalf have undergone DBS checks. Anyone conducting onsite work on behalf of Concept must also hold a valid CSCS card that is carried at all times when working with us.
We also request that all businesses joining our subcontractor network support our Training Levy, where 2% is deducted from all payments. This fund contributes to training and apprenticeship programmes which are instrumental in our efforts to address the labour shortage.
You’ll be required to upload documents relevant to the trade or service your company offers to complete your application. Common documents needed include:
