Concept Team Restores Community Stage on Ascension Island
Concept has delivered a community project at the Phoenix Community Centre in Hilsea, Portsmouth. Our Small Works and Additional Services team at HMNB Portsmouth carried out the work on behalf of our client partner, KBS Maritime. Our supply chain partner, Travis Perkins, supported the project.
The centre serves local residents, community groups and families. The fencing around its children's play area had become damaged and rotten over time. The aim was to replace it and give families a safe, secure place to play.
The Works
The team removed the old fencing around the play area and installed a new, robust boundary. Three of our operatives gave their time to complete the work. Together, they put in 56 hours to deliver this social value project.
Travis Perkins donated £882.74 towards the project through its community fund.
The Impact
The new fencing makes the outdoor area safer and more secure. It also improves the look of the centre and gives the play area a boundary that will last for years to come.
The project forms part of our social value commitment. It shows the difference we can make when we work with our clients, supply chain partners and local communities.
