Broxhead House

Broxhead House is an old MOD Officers building based in Bordon. As part of a large rejuvenation programme currently progressing in various sites across Bordon; Homes and Communities Agency have bought Louisburg Barracks and although most of the existing buildings have been demolished to build new housing in line with the Government's drive for demand in affordable housing, Broxhead House is one of the few last remaining buildings standing in the old barracks and will be a centrepiece as an example of restoration work.

Overview

Under the direction of Homes and Communities Agency, we undertook the complete overhaul and refurbishment of Broxhead House in Bordon, Hampshire. The building is to be used as high end office space and will boast original Terrazzo flooring in the main lobby and finishes complementing the original structure such as architraves, skirting and plinths blocks, after being restored and made good or matched to the existing. The building has two floors and two wings, although the current structure is to be maintained, we installed a new fully glazed entrance with Brise Soleil timber clad overhang. The old entrance is still in use as an additional entrance with the original stone porch way being maintained. Externally we provided vehicle parking surrounding the site, with impressive white granite kerbs; a secret garden along with new street and bollard lighting to facilitate the occupancy. This £3.8 million pound project was also granted additional funding from the local council to enhance and complete the work to the desired high standard. Concept Building Services (Southern) Ltd were the Main Contractor with the mechanical, electrical and groundworks also being completed in house.
